Best of 2011: Chair Yoga!

Hello! I’m Annesa Hartman, the Lead Content Developer for Kaplan Universities Center for Teaching and Learning.  I bet that many of you, like me, spend a lot of time in front of a computer.  And, especially during the KU Village Online Conference where you don’t want to miss any of its back-to-back presentations.  However, while working at a computer can fill our brains, it’s not the best place to keep our bodies in healthy order.  An ergonomic chair and proper positioning of our posture in front of a computer can help immensely (click figure for larger version) and there is something to be said for getting up on occasion and taking a walk to elongate the spine and stimulate muscle function and blood flow.

    I hope everyone considers some chair yoga during this busy holiday season; it’s also great preparation for eating those inevitable holiday meals!:)
