You Can Count on Monsters

This book looks cool!  Richard Evan Schwartz, professor of Math at Brown University, wrote and illustrated a children’s book about math, You Can Count on Monsters.  According to the Princeton Alumni Blog:

About seven years ago, Schwartz made a simple book of black-and-white drawings of monsters — each one associated with a number — for his precocious daughter, then five, to help her learn about prime and composite numbers and factoring. A couple years later, he expanded the concept, eventually covering numbers 1 to 100 and making a poster of the fun monsters.

His book was also reviewed on NPR.

  1. where can I get the poster? I have the book and am so eager for students to notice the patterns.
