National Hispanic Heritage month was recently declared by el Presidente de E.E.U.U. or USA (OO-sa). Did you know that E.E.U.U. is the abbreviation for the U.S. en espanol? In Spanish the letters are doubled because it’s worth saying twice! Now that is what I call a tribute! Actually, it is because in Spanish abbreviations for plural words are duplicated.
Well, mis amigos, it’s time to celebrate Hispanic Heritage from September 15 through October 15, 2010. “This month, we honor Hispanics for enriching the fabric of America…” I don’t know about you, but I love empanadas! Of course, then I need to dance it off with salsa! No, not on my taco, on the dance floor! Even though I’m not, I celebrate Being Latino for a day! Remember our Microfinance spot? Well, just in time for Hispanic Heritage month, our Kaplan colleague, Melissa Edison, is screening her film No Son Invisibles: Mujeres Mayas & Microfinances at the Seattle Film Festival.
Vale!
