Scribble Maps

Scribble Maps: A perfect name for this tool.  You get what you expect, and more!  The site boasts that it is a “quick and easy way to rapidly make and share maps!”  Easy indeed, and what’s more — it’s free!  Hey, now this would be a great gizmo to plot your next Geocaching adventure, no?  Or even plan out the great family vacation more easily than Clark Griswold.

 With Scribble Maps, you can:

  •  Draw shapes and Scribble (on maps, of course!)
  •  Place Markers and text
  •  Create a Custom Widget for your map
  •  Save as Jpeg, KML /GPX  or publish a widget
  •  Send maps to friends
  •  Create a WOW Map to keep track of conquests and organize friends!

There is even a Scribble Maps Pro Beta version that has additional features; register for free. Wikibin notes, “Because Scribble Maps does not require registration to make maps, it has become popular in the education sector.”

It is nevertheless the map that precedes the territory – precession of simulacra-that engenders the territory ~ Jean Baudrillard
