Kindle for the PC

050710_will_ilsmallThe eBook market continues to grow, and the eBook technologies continue to advance. Amazon has released new versions of the Kindle over the past couple years. Barnes and Noble has entered the market place with its Nook. And there are certainly others out there, but I haven’t been able to keep up.

But what I wanted to reflect on was the nature of reading. Amazon has released a beta version of its Kindle for the PC. This will allow you to read books that you by for the Kindle on your PC also. The PC Kindle now joins the Kindle for the iPod/iPhone also. So in essense when I buy an ebook from Amazon I have 3 ways that I can read it — reader, iPod and the PC. 1. Yes, electronic readers will change how we read! I think, as you point out, we will read more. Portability and convenience being two of the big reasons. Plus, how better to get the tech generation reading than to give them something that has the look and feel of other electronic/tech devices?! Thanks Will 🙂
