There are lots of options for photo editting, just like with almost all technology tools these days — online, freeware, low-cost and commercial softwares. Photo editors exhibit a wide, wide ranges of approaches — from the graphics industry-standard and expensive Photoshop to free online photo editors.
One that I found that looks worth checking out is Paint.net. It is a desktop software and it is free. I ran it through its basic paces and it looks like it can do many of the things I normally do to prepare an image for my classes: resize, adjust color and adjust constrast, for example.
