Book Group Forming!

outliersSave the date!  March 10th at 1pm ET!

This will be the first meeting of the IL book group.

We will be discussing Malcolm Gladwell’s Outliers.  Also we will be using the Adobe Connect “webinar” tool to hold the discussion.  (Look for the link in the MARCH professional development calendar put out by the CTL.  It will be published towards the end of February.) A link to the book on Amazon is here.

I will be facilitating the first session, but hope to have others take over the helm for future discussions!  If you have ideas for future books please send them to me wdebock@kaplan.edu or post a comment here on the blog!

I hope this idea takes off!  I would love to intellectually engage with my colleagues in a regular forum!

Hey Will…this sounds exciting! I think I’ll try the library for the Outliers book first, and then see if I can get it at Amazon.com. My niece’s boyfriend works there, so maybe he can get me a discount! 🙂

What types of books are you looking for? Scholarly? Personal? English texts?

Here are some of my ‘personal favorites’ right now:
Twilight Series (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn)
    Janet Evanovich Books
    Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Unfortunately I do not have as much time as I would like to spend reading what I want…it’s usually spent reading student papers and course textbooks!

    Take care, HVS

  2. Sustainable Leadership
    Andy Hargreaves, Dean Fink
    ISBN: 978-0-7879-6838-0
    Paperback
    352 pages

    I recommend this book.
