From Donna Liljegren, Director, CTL…
Greetings, Kaplan Colleagues!
On behalf of Kaplan University, the Center for Teaching & Learning (CTL) and the CTL Advisory Committee are pleased to present two professional development opportunities for you during the month of October.
On October 26th, our newest professional development workshop, Using Audio in the Classroom, will be available for your participation. In an effort to improve the delivery of our workshops, Using Audio in the Classroom will be offered from the KUCampus page using the eCollege platform. This change will eliminate the connectivity and login issues that have occurred as a result of locating the workshops on the CTL website. We are very excited to be able to make this change to our delivery of training and development opportunities.
IMPORTANT: In order to participate in this workshop, you will need to register so that you have access to the Center for Teaching and Learning: Professional Development classroom (PD500). To register, please email Kimberly Watson at firstname.lastname@example.org and place the word “Registration” in the subject line of the message.
In addition to the workshop, we are also pleased to announce a companion event in the Innovations Lab. Mark your calendars for Tuesday, October 30th at 2 p.m. eastern. Will DeBock will host a live demonstration of some more sophisticated techniques for incorporating audio into the classroom, such as using Jing and authorSTREAM to add audio to announcements, assignments, and to provide value-added classroom presentations. (If you are unable to attend, the session will be archived and available from the CTL/Innovations Lab website.) It should be a lively session, and we hope you are able to attend.
We are very excited to be able to offer you these professional development opportunities, and we are confident that you will be able to use the information to improve the engagement and learning of your students. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
